6,8'lik depremden sonra bölgede umutları yeşerten bir haber daha geldi. Elazığ, Maden ilçesi Gezin Mahallesi'nde enkaz altında bulunan hamile kadın sağ olarak kurtarıldı. Ekipler hamile kadının enkaz altında olan oğlunu kurtarmak için çalışmalara devam etti. Kısa zamanda oğlununda çıkarıldığı bilgisi geldi. Deprem sonrası kurtarma çalışmaları devam ederken AFAD öncülüğündeki çalışmalarda enkaz altındaki hamile iki kadın birer saat arayla kurtarıldı. Hamile bir kadın 12 saatin ardından enkaz altından çıkartıldı. Aynı enkazdan daha önce iki kişi daha çıkartılmıştı.
